Desktop & mobile apps

Run Sangria in your browser, as a desktop or mobile app, or installed as a PWA.

Sangria runs wherever you work. Use it in your browser, as a desktop app, on mobile, or install it as a PWA — your workspaces, channels, and messages are the same everywhere, so you can move between them through the day without losing your place.

Which one to pick comes down to the machine you're on and what you need from it. The sections below cover what each option adds.

Browser

Open Sangria in any modern browser and sign in. There's nothing to install, which makes it the quickest way to get going — on your own machine, or on a shared or borrowed one where you'd rather not install anything. When you want native notifications or huddle screen sharing, move up to the desktop app or install the PWA.

Desktop app

The desktop app runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and it's the fullest way to use Sangria at your computer. On top of everything the browser does, it adds:

  • Native notifications in your operating system's notification center, so alerts show up alongside the rest of your desktop notifications.
  • Screen sharing in huddles, for walking through a document or demoing your work.
  • Camera and microphone for voice and video in huddles.

If you spend most of your day in Sangria on a computer, the desktop app is the one to install.

Mobile app

The mobile app is available for iOS and Android, and adds push notifications so you stay reachable when you're away from your computer. Pair it with the desktop app to catch mentions on your phone when you've stepped away from your desk — just remember that notifications are enabled separately on each, as noted below.

Install as a PWA

You can install Sangria straight from your browser as a Progressive Web App, so it lives in your dock or app list like a native app without a separate download. Use your browser's install prompt to add it. The installed PWA gives you:

  • App shortcuts for jumping straight to common places.
  • An offline fallback page that appears when you're disconnected, so you get a clear message instead of a broken tab.

Push notifications are per-device

Push notifications are per-device — each browser or device subscribes separately. Enabling them on your laptop's browser doesn't cover your phone, and the mobile app doesn't cover your desktop app; each one has its own subscription.

Enable notifications on every device

Turning on notifications in one place doesn't turn them on everywhere. Enable notifications on each browser and device you use, or you'll miss alerts on the ones you skipped.

When your connection drops

If you lose signal or the connection wavers, Sangria shows a small reconnecting banner instead of quietly failing, then slots you back in on its own once you're back — no reload needed. On the mobile app you can also pull down from the top of a list to force a fresh sync whenever you want one.
